The FBO I train out of just went to www.schedulepointe.com and so far it's pretty slick. The only complain I've heard is the system doesn't give the instructors a lot of advance warning but that could be the way the thing is set up. So far it's been working farily well as far as I know.
this is the system my fbo uses....works great...you can see what is available months in advance. and plan your instructor and aircraft accordingly. there is also a section for weight and balances and other files you might want to include.
Both my old flight school and now my new flight school use schedulebook.com. I like it a lot. It's so much easier to peruse the entire schedule over my lunch hour at work as opposed to going to the FBO or calling in and writing it into a book, which is the way that another place I rent from still does things.
Schedulebook will send an email to my CFI when I schedule him for a flight, though this isn't huge to us as we discuss schedule before I ever go and book anything anyhow. It will also let me book a 'resource' (aircraft) in reserve if it's already scheduled. If the person holding the current slot cancels, I automatically get dropped in and notified by email. I'll also get notified by email when an aircraft is 'disabled' due to mx, or if it's pulled offline altogether. (something I got the distinct pleasure of getting several emails about recently...
It's not bad. I guess the only issue would be students cancelling (or scheduling for that matter) at the last minute and the instructor not knowing unless they pulled up the schedule online.
Paper, pencils, erasers and a phone here. Although an online solution does look nice, but it would cost something to put a computer right in the lounge where everyone can use it, otherwise I'd much rather sit at my computer and book a flight rather than call whenever they're open.

[/ QUOTE ]My school also uses cassi and it seems to get the job done. If you cancel a flight late dispatch just calls the instructor to avoid conflict.
When I was instructing, my company used schedulebook.com and it was terrific. I really thought it worked well (for all the same reasons Sarah mentions) and would definitely recommend it.
