Scenic

I got the letter and was not offerred the job. I'm really not sure why.

GCA and Scenic will be merging sometime around January.

They are still running one class a month, but more than likely you will sit in the pool. Classes are 6 weeks, from what I remember.

Sorry to hear that man :(

I'm really curious why too... maybe that Becca thing you were saying? (because of altitude?) your logic made sense to me.... why would I see any other altitude there besides what it should be? I would have setup my altimeter long before I got there

Exactly what I said about the altimeter and beca, that question got me too it was very frustrating. By the way Aviation.Miller with 600 total and a lot of multi, Scenic isn't for you unless you live in boulder city.

I would have probably argued the altimeter setting deal with them, and end up pissing them off and getting the boot right there haha...

i'm pretty persistant with things unless I can be proven wrong.

I'm not sure what Becca thing you are referring too. Is it the altitude crossing the fix? If so, I stated it would be to confirm the glideslope is working properly. I guess they didn't like that answer. But, when it was explained to me during the interview, I seemed to agree.

Kinda glad I went down there, learned a few things during the interview.

I sent them a resume as well, still have fairly low multi. It's okay, I'm going to be instructing in Arizona for a while, probably get the MEI.

I just got an interview 1 week after submitting my application online.

Times: 240/130

Thanks for the previous posts in this thread, they are helping A LOT!!!

New pay proposal will be effective the 13th of this month. Pay is no longer based on Effective Flight Hours, it is straight duty pay now. New FO pay is $12 a duty hour, with a $5 an hour override after 11 hours. Guarantee is based on 64.6 hours a pay period or equivalent to 140 hours a month. I'm expecting it will be around $1300-1400 a month after taxes. There is also a year end bonus that you will get in November as a "thank you" for staying all season. It is $4 for every hour you flew from Dec 07 to Nov 08.

All in all, it's an improvement, and should good this summer when we get really busy. Also, they brought back the training contract for new hire FO's. Don't know all the specifics, but that will be effective for all new hires after April 13th, and it's a 12 month agreement.

Ugh, that's still horrible pay, considering the cost of living. I'm making substantially more than that doing aerial mapping in a 172, with all my housing and transportation costs covered, though without any hope of multi time.

I agree.....you pay for the multi one way or another.........

I disagree. Yes, you'll have to pay for the multi commercial. But there are ways of accumulating multi time without working for terrible pay. Freight comes to mind, as well as MEI instruction. Other things are possible too in the 135 world (where I got my multi time).

well if you mention cargo, you can also mention getting your multi via regionals these days(hell, their minimums are less than of cargo lol)... getting MEI cost money too though.

speaking of which, someone I Know just finished CMEL, got CFI and went to IBC or somethign over at MIA flying saab340 for cargo. her TT was somewhere in the area of 250, with ME of like 25ish

edit: http://www.ibcairways.com/ website for that company. not sure how much they pay.
