Any current or former Scenic Airlines pilots here? Have an interview in a couple of weeks. Looking for any helpful information about the company

Thanks,
JR

Pretty decent operation ...

12/hr flight pay, $6/hr on duty pay (i.e. sitting aorund the airport). Get some decent IFR, especially in winter, turbine twin otters and I think they have a 1900 for the sched. service to Cali. 121 operation, but apparently their "ATP" quiz, in the interview, is focused on 135 ops (don't know why). They'll give you a sim ride in a Frasca-type rig (i.e. get some time in a sim to "get used to it").

A friend of a friend (who happens to be my brother's first flight instructor) worked up there for about two years and just got on with Air Wisconsin. They're sucking up nearly every CFI in the Vegas area.

Anything else I'd take a look at aviationinterviews.com and see if there are any gouges up.

My husband flew for them in 1994.

He's out mowing the lawn right now, but I'll ask him if he has any advice for you when he gets in.

I wanna know where the actual time is coming from. I see they fly to some places in Cali and Utah, so maybe they are getting it there, but doing a visual tour of the Grand Canyon(ie. actually see), they wouldn't be getting much actual.

You'd be surprised how marginal and below "mins" GC can get in the winter. Landing on snowy/slushy runways. It's not like flying the great lakes in winter but for around here you get a "decent" amount of actual.
