It ended up being a fight with the agents and scheduling because I refused to let that happen. I kept trying to get them to just deadhead me the next day, Or I was just gonna fatigue it or something and go home but it would've screwed everyone in the morning.. I absolutely hated helping out the company and going against my contractual rights to not ride jumpseat as a DH in that painful contraption for 3 hrs, especially when they have screwed me repeatedly so many times.. but it was the holiday's, everybody wants to get home, so I just gave in and took it to keep his seat.

Good on ya, seriously. I understand the conflict, but somebody is seeing their son/father/whatever because you "took one for the team". Stick it to the jerks next time.

PS. This seems like one for the local news.

manager reserves two hotel rooms a few blocks away and says (maybe) you guys might want to stay here if you think you might not make it home and back...

I am working Xmas-eve and xmas and you think maybe I should just stay at the hotel so I can make it back.....Sorry dude, but I will leave a couple hours early if I have to so I can be with my kids for some portion of the day....

It's a nice thought, but ain't gonna happen....:rotfl:

Hey at least you get a hotel in 'base'! Not just any company goes out and actually buys their employees hotels when the weather is bad :eek:

I have a 3 day over xmas so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out. Usually once they see the props they scare themselves into a submissive and compliant state :)
