SC Aviation, Janesville WI

I interviewed with them about 4 years ago and the aircraft appeared the be well maintained but the pay was well below average. At the time I was flying for Wisconsin Aviation in MSN and making quite a bit more.

What was the pay when you interviewed there?

Had the pleasure of interviewing there a couple of weeks ago and decided not to take the job but here were the details.
-Nice facility in Janesville with a fleet of Hawkers and Learjets
-They are a spinoff of Swiss Colony's corporate flight department operating 135 now. Swiss Colony owns I believe 4 of the Learjets and the rest are owned independently and leased/managed by SC.
-Schedule is 17 on and 5 off. You aren't gone those 17 days but on call with normal trips of 4-10 days. Your 5 days off are hard days off. There are vacation days you can take but they prefer you use those on the front or back of your 5 days off. Their words were "this is not a cush Part 91 job" so they are very transparent about the schedule.
-They request that you to live within 45 min of the Janesville airport.
-Hiring due to added aircraft and two pilots moving on. They are hiring into the Hawker. Will type you PIC in the plane through Flight Safety, but you are FO until upgrade. Upgrade isn't necessarily seniority based, but more flight time and insurance requirement based. They said normal upgrade varies a lot but 2-5 years on average.
-Pay is $47,000 / year as a FO with a pay raise upon upgrade.
-Benefits are really good since they are through Swiss Colony. Health insurance, disability, life insurance, pension, 401K all beginning the day you area hired. Moving allowance, continuing ed assistance, and HSA.

All in all I walked away impressed with the operation. They are excited about their growth and said they are on track to have their best year ever. They are a little different from most charter companies since they are somewhat backed by the Swiss Colony and the very nice benefits that are offered through them.

That about sums up my experience also. Pay was less then but still below industry standard.

They seemed like really nice people and a good company, just poor pay
