Say goodbye to the faded colorblind book

MICHAEL! Bro, you should have seen the troll from thirty clicks away! Ha!

Elon Musk got into the crypto business a few years ago with “Doge Coin” which was a take on the “doge meme”.

He proposed “Department of Government Efficiency” to the next administration and ‘that sounds AMAZING!’ and performed zero due dillegence.
Elon is all about that kind of stuff. Tesla models spell out S3XY. He bought twitter for 54.20 a share, and filed paperwork for it on 4/20.

Finally? The AF was doing this years ago before I retired, in the last one or two mil flight physicals I took.

Navy still breaks that same damn book out every year. Granted, I've never had a problem with it, but it does seem very outdated

haha touche. I actually had this version as a kid, was on my dad's bookshelf. Sadly I lent it to a friend in college who was getting ready for our standardized entry test, and don't think I ever got it back. But the one we were issued in actual flight school looked very different (though I think it was still the same actual content). It's a pretty good book I'll say.

Side note: dogecoin had nothing to do with Ole Musky for years. It was started as a lampoon of Bitcoin with no practical opportunity to significantly appreciate, only be a farcical mascot of the times in the style of The Onion or Birds Aren’t Real.

But much like The Simpsons, time passed, new people came along, and what made it special was forgotten. Musk got involved and it became just another cryptocurrency.

Army as well.

In fairness there are common place methods of injury that can cause colorblindness…. But this being an annual thing is a bit more like attempting to catch somebody hiding something than to discover a real problem.

I sure hope so.
It's at the end of the article:

“Beginning January 1, 2025, the FAA will require all applicants for an initial airman medical certificate to test for color vision deficiencies using the new program. Pilots who have held a medical certificate will not need to retest unless they want a color vision restriction on their certificate removed, develop a medical condition or are taking medication that affects color vision.”

I saw that but I wasn’t sure if this was new to the computer test or not. I’ve always questioned why they keep giving me the test every time.

Am I the only one who’s AME tested for color blindness one time during my first ever medical and never did it again?

Probably!

I always feel like I’m cheating because I whip out the answers really fast, but I can see the numbers vividly.

Well this would have been bad news for me about 20 years ago. Thankfully Dr Forred had a Farnsworth Lantern test at his office. I drove from CA to PHX to get my medical and had the restriction removed and have been good to go ever since! So thanks @derg for jetcareers and the resource that most likely saved my career before it even started! 🤣

I remember Dr Forred - seems like 10 years ago. Oh wait...

Dr. Forred was awesome. I did pretty much the same thing as you, except I made an XC out of it, flew into PHX, and took the crew car to his office.
