It's not, "27K a year." It's salary based on 27K for the first six months, then jumps to 33K so that means 30K for the first year. Second year is 36K. Not too terribly bad for 4 on 3 off, know your schedule a month in advance and work with good people, have a lot of variety in your flying, fly a fun, capable, well equipped plane, etc.
It's not an entry level job. Single pilot flying in this environment and with professional people next to you watching everything you do requires experience and maturity and that's what the company looks for. Most of us already have thousands of hours and plenty of multi time so that's not what we're looking for. So if you're a time-builder, no it's not the job for you.
It's also not, "have to pay for an interview." Give me a break. How much was your interview fee? Show me the bill. Oh, you want a limo to pick you up? (Not directed to you Ashton, but to the other guy who commented on having to travel to the interview, "on his own dime.") I know airlines will throw you on an empty seat they're going to have going from point a to b anyway with no skin off of their back, but do the various other charter operators, or Netjets or Flex, etc. pay to fly people to interviews? I'm sorry, and I may be wrong but this sounds kind of spoiled and from somebody who hasn't seen what aviation is really like over the years with the ups and downs.
I cant for the life of me understand why anyone would want that for 27k a year, plus you pay for the interview? it wont get you anything. I understand some people like that kind of flying - cool enough... but the money sucks, and what on earth can you do with thousands of hours of cirrus time? nothing
