I apologize in advance if this subject has been discussed.
I am close to finishing my BS in Aerospace Engineering and I was wondering how is the aviation progrm at San Jose State University. I am thinking of doing a second BS in Aviation operations over there while I am finishing up my ratings.
By the time I go there which is one year from now I will hopefully be a CFI, I was wondering if it is possible to continue your CFII, MEI and ATP ratings while you are instructing part time and going to school full time.
Also anyone who knows something about SJSU Aviation program I would love to hear your comments.

There has been a few threads about the SJSU Aviation program here before. Just to give you a preview of the program- the Operation Program "used" to be good a few years ago when i was there but nowadays- i haven't heard anything positive about any of the programs. Classes are hard to get and teachers are mostly part timers and i have not heard any good comments about them. The airport school facility is getting old and no one seems to be concerned about it. They eleiminated the A&P program, which i was an advocate of and really, what use to make the school proud and famous for many years. I hate to say this but overall, i would not recommand SJSU for any type of Aviation Programs. I have to say though, SJSU is still one of the best university in many other majors. Hope-that helps-

I would suggest you also look into CSU Los Angeles. They have an Aviation Administration BS degree. It will be a piece of cake if you will are almost done with an engineering degree.
Some very good instructors while I was there. One is a retired VP of flight ops for Continental, another a ret. Col USAF, and an active aviation attorney teaching aviation law.

Depending on where you are doing your current degree you might not have to many courses to take for the admin degree. PM me and I can give you the directors email if you would like to contact him.

yeah i'm starting at sjsu this semester after a stint at erby diddle, and there was really no assuring thigns to be said about the program. a lot was said about the director as she has no idea what the hell she is doing and taking it apart from teh inside.

Thanks for the info guys, I am still wondering where to go for an aviation defree. I wanna make it in the administrative airport or airline jobs if I don't make it as a pilot so that is why SJSU sounded good to me.
One question that is remaining, Is is possible to instruct part time while you are going to school full time an also finishing up ratings?

at erby diddle my graduating senior friend was an aero engineer and finished his CFI, CFII, MEI and was then instructing. definitely possible.
