San Francisco wants to ban the Blue Angels

This is really nothing new. In light of the recent accident, they might be able to rally a few more idiots this time, but I still don't really see it happening anytime soon. If it were to happen, I'd say we should just cancel SFO fleet week entirely. If the "people" vote that they don't want the military there, I'm not sure how it is any different for combatant ships to be there.

Technically, it's one elected official.

We have one in Arizona that thinks there's a "Chemtrail Conspiracy" but it doesn't mean that Arizona, as a whole, believes in the chemtrail hubris.

Is that the guy who held the public forum semi recently?

If they do, too bad. Those airshows bring in lots of money to the economy. When the shows were cancelled a few years ago, the one day Pensacola Beach airshow said they profited around $1.5 million dollars to the economy. I get that jets flying over, be it low or high speed can be annoying, especially if someone doesn't like jet noise but damn, it's 10 minutes out of you life.

San Francisco just likes to ban things and tax others. It's their thing. Wonderful city, interesting government. I don't see the public ever allowing that to happen. Especially with the recent tragedy.

'San Francisco County Supervisor John Avalos describes Blue Angel planes as “killing machines.” He told the San Francisco Chronicle they are no longer welcome because, “It’s about the terror that they cause in people when they strafe the neighborhoods.”

He tweeted, “War planes r flying at low altitudes over SF, reminding me of the $580B for US imperialism & the pittance 4 climate and human development.”

Holy crap on a biscuit, who created and raised such an idiot like this? Wow. What exactly does he think the role of fighter jets are to begin with? The residents are terrified?? Are you kidding me? Did they run inside with their little Birkenstocks flapping on the sidewalk, their hemp shirts fluttering, while clutching their sleepy time tea in an ecological friendly cup or something? Poor babies.

Send the Blues down here to the O.C., we'd love that!

Can we deport these city officials for treason? Sounds very anti-patriotic to me..... On a more serious note, I've heard so many stories of kids that first decided to make flying a career because they saw the Blue Angels or Thunderbirds fly. It would be a huge shame to prevent that. But I think that's exactly the type of thing these people are trying to prevent...

Somebody needs to make a mashup of this guy and the "AR15 gave me PTSD" guy.

...Blue Angels go against “the values of peace that San Francisco stands for.” He added, “They promote militarism, and I don’t think a city like ours should be promoting that.”

The military has given us advances in medicine (specifically trauma), navigation (GPS), the internet (ARPANET), and travel (jet engines). San Fran and much of Silicon Valley wouldn't exist without it.

well, liberals are nothing if not hypocrites.
These are the same people that believe hunting is wrong. Can't you get your meat like everyone else does, at Whole foods.

BLUES WEEKEND NEXT WEEK!

WHAT WHAT!

Should be a very good show though. I'm expecting a MASSIVE turnout from the home crowd considering recent events.

Pensacola Beach is going to be packed with human bodies.
