San Diego flying clubs

Hey all, I'm looking seriously at getting back into civilian flying in my off time, and have been researching flying clubs in the greater San Diego area. Any suggestions? It might sound goofy, but I'm looking for a place that has something other to offer than Cessnas (I hate flying them and vowed to never do so again). Anything like an Arrow/Warrior or Mooney/Bonanza would be ideal. Thanks in advance!

Why don't you worry about an airplane called the Hornet, for now. :)

You're no longer working towards learning to fly something, but instead on learning to employ it as the weapon system it's designed to be. Flying is easy; the employment part is what separates a full-up nugget from a worthless one. Meaning, you'd better be on your A-game on the flying part, on the systems knowledge, on the admin, on the EPs, on the coming and going, and on the hands. All of those better become second nature, and quick. Because, getting ordnance on target is going to be your bread and butter. Flying the jet, taking off and landing......especially on the boat....are things that simply get done in order to be able to get the employment done. And thats the part you're learning now, hence why you're no longer in VT, and are now in VMFA.

Get good at that first. There's a ton of time post-RAG for GA.

Just my 2 cents.

Great planes in the club, very easy administration. I met a lot of great people there...

I was (am) a member of Armed Forces Aero Club at MYF. Cheap rates, but PM if you want more info.
