Dear friends,
Could anyone please explain to me the interets only payemnt and deffered payment option in the form. I am currently trying to get a loan for skymates. Do you think the y will pay for the whole training if I just apply for myslef or do you think its better to put someone else as a co-signer too?

Thank you all for your help.

Interest Only Payments = generally paying only the interest on the loans until you are done with training.

Deferred Payment Option = generally no payments (interest or otherwise) until you are done with training.

I have deferred payments on my Sallie Mae loan. In the meantime however, I have huge monthly interest payments of 10 dollars until my real payments kick in.
Whether you have a co-signer on there is up to you. I think they allow you to apply for the loan up to three times, so you can try by yourself first if you want to. Largely depends on your credit rating.

Hey, I went through SLM and applied about 9 times for the 3 loans I have through them. Couldn't get in without a cosigner, just to to the insurmountable amount a 21 year old was asking for! :( I don't think they have a limit, based on that.

If you're international you want to call us up and ask for DeAnne, she'll take care of you.

John, is there anyway I can get in contact with you to ask you a few questions about my situation before contacting them? Send a private message or something of that sort

I don't know much about international stuff, but send me a PM if you want. I'd highly recommend you call Skymates at (866) 759-6289 and ask for DeAnne, she handles all international students for us.
