Safety Pilot/CFI Detroit Area

Hey all. If anybody in the Detroit, Lansing, Flint area wants a safety pilot, I am more than happy to occupy and keep the right seat warm. If you want instruction, I can do that too. 15$ / hr for instruction. If you want Ground, I can do that too, 10$ per hour.

I also have access to a nice PA28-180 for 100$/hr wet.

I would, but I can barely afford to fly on my own now with the economy. I figure I get paid something for my work, I am mostly interested in the time.

Ahh the unfortunate circumstances as to why alot of people cannot make a living as a CFI because people will FLY FOR FREE... (almost). It's just hard for me to swallow.

At anyrate, I heard someone just got hired in A2 as a line guy. It is summer so you have alot of people moving away, there is a greater chance of getting in position, i mean, would you could do both, that is why I suggest checking out A2, I know Mike Borders he works both Line and CFI, I still say give him a call at Solo. Its not the best but itll work, and they said they were really busy when I did my 90 day single engine currency a few weeks ago.
 
I make my rounds every week or so. And I honestly, dont want to work for free. And I do see the argument. If people work for free it takes away from the guy who needs that paycheck. Well, Im here to tell you I am that guy who needs that paycheck. And even though I am looking, putting my resume out there, making contacts, nothing has come out of it yet. In the meantime, I cant just sit around and hope I get a lucky break.

My family is doing ok on just my wifes income, but just ok. Until I build more hours, my options as a professional pilot are quite limited. So without a CFI gig, this is one of the few things I can offer. Unless you can provide an alternative to building hours like what I am trying to do, besides say, get a CFI job which are nonexistant in the economically depressed Detroit, I am open ears. :)
 
I see your situation, and wish I could help more but the economy makes it extremely difficult when my employer is not hiring at all right now.
