Sad news over at Skymates

I flew with the instructor when he was a student at ATP. An awesome guy who was an awesome pilot and friend. I know he went down fighting. First pilot I have ever flown with not to come back. RIP.

Nobody I knew, but I have on idea if they were on here.

I'm sure Ryan will be on one of these days to fill us in.

Robert was a great guy. He was a Marine, ATP grad, and a great co-worker.

I only had the pleasure of knowing him for a couple of months. I sent all of my foreign students to him for the multi-engine training, since I don't have my MEI.

It is a very surreal moment for me right now.

They say the names of the pilots in this link. They also say that the plane disintegrate in mid-air, according to witnesses. http://www.nbc5i.com/news/14611491/detail.html

nbc5i said:
Authorities identified the victims as 29-year-old Robert William Davey, of DeSoto, who was a flight instructor. The two flight students were Luca Visani, no age available, of Cesena, Italy; and Andrea Venturini, no age available, from Mantova, Italy."

Omg...:(!

Yeah is that "THE" Luca..IE Owner?

EDIT...MOJO beat me to it. Phew.

Still, horrible stuff. My biggest fear in flying old flight school planes is them simply falling apart. I hope this is not the case here.
