Unofficial Furlough Recall Stats:
71 Furloughed.
01 DECLINED, 5 PENDING, and 65 ACCEPTED.
I'm not sure if the declined recall was a resignation or not.
With the latest Vacancy Bid, it seems Eagle may be posturing to hire in 2010.
Those wishing to apply should acquire the following:
FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator's Permit
Currently Class 1 Medical. (Class 2 Required for FO's on the line, but I think they require this at application. A nice fresh one looks good. I know a great DME in the DFW area if anyone needs one.)
CMEL Cert. Likely ATP level hours or better. This is pure speculation on my part, but if you're close, making sure your resume is current can't hurt. The worst they can say at this point is no, right? (Please don't PM me asking if if your particular number will do. I have no idea!)
Current US Passport. Eagle pilots regularly fly short- to medium-haul international ops. This is a must-have.
Current, correct LOGBOOK. Yep, they want to see this. They'll ask you to mark checkrides, etc.
Suitable interview attire. Show up in blue jeans or not wearing a tie, etc, and see how long you last. They turned away people for this during the hiring boom.
Letters of recommendation: You might start hitting up people you've flown with or that have resumes that would make them a good person to recommend you, etc.
I have no idea exactly when, or even for sure IF Eagle will hire.. nor do I know how many and under what conditions will Eagle hire pilots.
... but in the interest of helping fellow JCer's, I thought I'd drop this word here.
And please.. no PMs about my opinion of your personal Total/Multi time chances. I don't mind it so much, but I have no real answer for it, so it doesn't do any good. Not to mention my personal politics about people with rock-bottom times with sky high expectations. If you've been paying attention, you know how I feel about that. People disregarding this request will be sent applications for Sallie Mae loans and Gulfstream's Right Seat Direct program.
