Rumor: UA 787 Triple generator failure inflight

I have it from a source inside United that one of their 787s diverted to MSY this morning due to a triple generator failure. Thats all the info I have at the moment.
 
I wonder what the RAT does on a 787...doesn't provide electrics in the 767, only hydraulics for the flight controls.
 
After having to deploy one once (long story) I asked a tech rep about the reliability of the ADG on the Arctic RJ.

He said 50%.

That's REALLY not very comforting.
Excellent. We dropped ours on a maintenance run. Good god I wouldn't want to fly longer than 15 mins with that thing out.
 
I'm sure they just didn't feel like going to EWR. "We'll just tell them we had a triple gen failure... Yeah that's the ticket... Party on Burbon Street"
