Roush Crash pics: Moment of Impact

I too wish a speedy recovery. I know someone who is personal friends with Jack and by the sounds of it he got pretty banged up. Hit his head on the left window (which needed some reconstruction surgery), and had a major back injury. He is in good hands up there at the Mayo in Rochester.
 
I didn't realize the audio is posted now, too.

When you hear the controller talk to the taildragger at the very end of the clip, #3 to land, after telling the Lakes amphib and Cirrus to go around, he was referring to yours truly and my trusty 140. I was on downwind when all the craziness happened.

What was Roush talking about when he said "is 6JR going to be alright with this?.........I don't think so"

I don't know exactly. I *think* he was getting in too tight with the aircraft in front of him, but I'm not sure. The turbine arrivals to 18R at OSH come in from the east and don't mix with the piston singles (coming into the pattern from the south) until base leg of the pattern, so maybe that had something to do with it.

It's one of those things where I was mainly focused on maintaining my spacing from the Cirrus, setting up for landing, head swiveling for traffic, etc. and wasn't paying much attention to the aircraft three up from me in line.
 
If he had just "climbed the fence" after he got out, it would have really been a crowd pleaser!
 
There was an aircraft on the runway when Roush was short final, and it appeared he wasn't able to control his airspeed and stalled it.

There is audio; it was clear Roush was uncomfortable with the situation.
