Rough Day....

Once saw, when ATL was a short tower, a crate fall off of a tug and the dog got lose.

Ended up sending at least a half a dozen or so 26R arrivals around and/or had to sidestep to the inboard while fido eluded being recaptured by airports ops etc.

In the end, after about 30 min, it didn't end well for the dog.

In all honesty if there was some sort of austere self escort option where I go accompany my animal and crate and manually move through security to some freight warehouse with folding chairs and a coke machine until my flight, I’d be all for it.

Put me on a bus ~20 minutes before push back, let me roll out and physically put hands on or do whatever they need so the animals and crate get to the aircraft and I’ll get on with boarding group F/12/steerage/whatever.

I just put my dog in a kennel when we leave. $20/night and we know it's safe and sound.

That's because you likely don't move to the other side of the planet on a regular basis.
Not meant to be totally offensive but if you are having to truly pick up and move that often that far away maybe having a dog isn't the best thing for you right now.

Last Delta 747 landed in Marana about an hour ago.

Was a nice sight, and quite a few local news outlets here too surprisingly.

Right now, the former Delta 747s are stored in west storage, with only 2 undergoing scrapping: the one that flew through hail over in north scrapping, and another one in south scrapping. What the disposition of the remaining birds will be beyond storage, I haven't heard.

It’s up to the owners of those hulls. Delta just leased them.
