When I first met Shane, I was giving him an arse-chewing for showing up on a Monday morning without a fresh haircut. Later that day, he had to correct me on a maintenance procedure (I was a machine gunner-turned-engine mechanic - watch out!!!). As time went on, we became best friends and ended up instructing together at the school house and by some weird twist of fate, living 20 minutes away from one another and going to school together.

The finest Marine I've ever known, and as soon as he learns how to wear those bars, he's gonna be a great officer....

Yeah, I was thinking that! Everytime he comes up for promotion again, the value will double!!
