A truly remarkable airman and showman. Unbelievable skill set that seem to defy physics and belief. On top of that a truly humble and warm individual that will be missed by the aviation community. After what this man could do with an airplane it’s hard to believe he died on what should’ve been a simple routine landing. RIP..

Just a couple of weeks ago, I asked him whether cross-country flights were fatiguing in his MXS, he told me that with the autopilot and nice glass flights were pretty leisurely.

an amazing airmen...met him about 9 years ago at the Red Bull Air Races at Texas motor speedway and was super nice.

what he could do with a stick and rudder (in an MXS no less) was truly unworldly.

True. Add him to the list of aerobatic greats that died in ignominious manner: Renaud Ecalle for one, and Mike Mangold for another; all fairly routine flights, with none of the complex aerobatic stuff.

Most accidents involving aerobatic airplanes and pilots, are completely unrelated to aerobatics. Olivier Mauserel, Spanish aerobatic champion died taking a bird through the canopy. Hannes Arch is another one. I mean the list is endless and I could go on and on.

So true. Add Snort to the list. In a hurry, skipped the checklist. I hope his passing will serve as a lesson that saves many.

Not just aerobatic. Scott Crossfield, Steve Wittman, Frank Tallman, Paul Mantz, and many others I imagine.
