Here are just a few from a recent trip to the Inyos. Non aviation related but I did learn about the Gambler's Special crash in the Sierras near Mt. Whitney. Very sad. One of the guys I went with actually hiked to the crash site.

Please don't tell me you drove around all weekend with that thing on your roof did you? :rotfl:

Looks like you had a good time, I need to get myself and the pooch out this fall!

Dooooooood! You missed out. How did your bbq go? There are many more pics. You should have an email with linkys and passwords! Went with a bunch of great people who knew a lot about the area. Rick would have gotten along just fine. Lets GO!

arrrgh I just noticed one pic is duplicated and now I cannot remove the link.

More and more each year, the parts from both the DC-3 and the crashed helo are sliding downhill from that crash site. A sobering site to be on scene of.

Great pics! I've been covering a run this week that goes up to bishop from burbank right past the Inyos and up the Owens Valley. As a midwesterner, I have to say that I love flying this route. I just can't get enough of the awesome views! And the Thai Thai restaurant is not too bad either.

A route flying or driving? If you're flying it would be cool to check out (and get pics) of the salt tram station up on the mountain. It is a work of incredible engineering which was built in 1912. I do plan on getting up in the air and flying the Owens Valley and Death Valley to get a different perspective.
