I decided to open this dorky thread for Angel. Road bikes suck. You get hit by cars when you are on them.

PhotoPilot said:Close . . . I have one Klein. She's a killer aluminum/carbon composite roadie with (mostly) Dura-Ace.
Now, if Jace doesn't think that's cool or worthy of his attention, he should ride my Bianchi Pista. Nothing like a fixed-gear track bike to wake you up in the morning! (Notice the signature line in my posts . . .)
I take it you ride, too, Angel?

LOL yeah I did those but it was with my Dunlop Graspik snow tires. I did a burn out because my summer tires won't do it. If I try to burn out with those tires in the pic, it will make the car launch forward and make the front end hop. Could be because the clutch has 74,000 miles on it and slips a bit, but mainly because those tires grip so well. They won't even make any "uuuuuurrrrrrrrrrt" noises when screaming around a corner. They more-or-less sound like the go-cart tire "sssshhhhhh" sound when they're near their threshold.UAL747400 said:Nice burnout marks in your garage there Jason. Just like my garage. There's a lip that sometimes catches my front tires(this is with my blazer) and instead of just rolling forward and backing up again, I just burn the back tires till the truck rolls in. Looking at your tread, and the marks, those arent yours are they?
I end up riding the bike trails, but after a while it gets really boring. There's only so much enjoyment you can get out of looking at sparsely planted trees not indiginous to ND and a manmade creek that looks like •!.Where do you guys ride around here. I guess what I want to know is where are some dang hills. Oh yeah, there are none. Nevermind.![]()
18 miles in 45 minutes = 24mph. That's very fast for a road bike. I'd say highly unlikely even if your mountain bike is on slicks. 24-25mph is what Professor Yearwood won w/ during the Hillsboro race this last Spring.UAL747400 said:I need to get my a$$ on a bike again. I've got a GT outpost. My first mountain bike, I wore hell out. The guy at the bike shop said he'd never seen EVERY single bearing worn down so bad. Even the bearings in the handle bars!! lol I really really doubt I could do 18 miles(bike path back home) in 45 minutes like I used to do. Is that good for a mountain bike? I know my dad had that same path down to dang near 30 minutes on a road bike. I never got to try a road bike out on that path.

But I just ride around anywhere. Usually, I like going to East Grand Forks and head in random directions. I've done highway 2 to the GFK AFB but that's very boring. I've gone down the country roads to the south but those are boring as hell too. I just stick to the "city".
UAL747400 said:I did usually only to maintain 18-20mph. I have held 30 for awhile with a good tail wind. I need to check and see how long that path really is. I thought it was 18. With that speed its more likely 14 miles. The time that I said is right though. I was in really really good shape, as far as biking goes, before I started driving. I wouldnt be surprised if I averaged 24mph on a good day with or without wind.
Definitely......unless you have two magnets lolPhotoPilot said:I don't know if you realize how incredibly difficult that would be . . . especially on a MTB!![]()
