RIP Peebles, The Emotional Support Hamster.

I have a very strict no kill rule for spiders. Any house spider gets put outside. Spiders eat mosquitos. Spiders are my friend.
Yup, spiders are good.
There was this dude at the glider club, shows up all bruised up. What happened? Wolf spider attack. Well that's a first, never heard of wolf spiders attacking any humans.
Turns out the dude saw a wolf spider on the ceiling, rolled up a newspaper, climbed on a chair to whack it. Spider jumped in his face, there was some screaming and falling involved. Legit spider self defence, fail to see how that was an attack. Spider ran away afterwards too, so all good.

Where I'm originally from spiders are black widows and snakes are rattlesnakes. I now have a non-aggression pact with outside spiders but inside spiders violated the treaty.

Black widows go.

Alright well that's fair. I've never had to contend with black widows.

I have many times. Mostly in the field during my Marine days.
Oddly enough, was never bitten.

I did scream like a little girl walking outside to my patio. My girlfriend at the time told me not to be such a little bitch. It's only a Black Widow...

About the same time the morning DJ's we're talking about getting a BW bite. A guy called in and said, because he was a healthy young dude, the hospital won't use anti-venom. He described the pain, about the same as getting muscle failure at the gym, but 100% of them time. I think he said it lasts about 4/5 days.

My dad got bit once and refused to go to the Dr.

His finger split open like an over-microwaved hot dog.

Even though I'm terrified of them, I do that as well. Except for Black Widows. Came across them too many times in the Bay Area, anywhere on the property and they die. The others get put outside.

Seriously. What is it with people and spiders? I’d rather deal with any spider, any day, than with lice. Those give me the heebie jeebies.

I've never had to deal with lice. I did have a friend in AZ that had a bunch of scorpions in his house. NO THANKS!!!!

The local indigenous cat population does an adequate job eviscerating any reptilian or amphibious intruders into the living space. However their efforts with arachnids leaves much to be desired. I have attempted to address this deficiency with local feline management, however their position on this has been non-responsive. This may require aggressive negotiations including, but not limited to, a withdrawal of gushy fudz until a satisfactory resolution is achieved.

I see your Black Widow and raise you camel spiders

There was this girl in high school, good looking, if a bit weird.
Anyways, not sure what the background there was, but the family pets of choice were lizards. All kinds of lizards. Dozens if not hundreds of lizards at their place. Each damn thing had a name and a story and a list of favorite foods and stuff.
Tiny lizards, big lizards, green lizards, brown lizards, yellow lizards.
Found me on the Facebook not long ago. Grew up to be an artist, paints flowers and has a dog. Go figure.
