Yeah, well the courts won't agree with you, or others who have trouble relating to people and put animals on a pedestal as a result.

An animal that is a threat to others who might pass by or approach it in a small ass aluminum tube has not place being there - period.

I don’t hope that the dog gets put down.

I do think the airlines need to either make people keep their dogs in a crate or don’t allow them in the cabin at all.


If I have to travel with my dogs, I just drive. They are happier that way anyway

Cool thing about the internet is that once you put something on there, it can be on there forever.

Now let me find your pet and harass it until it defends itself, then cry foul when it does and get it put down. How is that in any way justified?
 
Problems with animals onboard, people who shouldn't be in exit rows, drunks and copilots that are sitting their on their iPhone as the world is melting down that need to be challenged like children have been the bane of my existence the past few years.

Um, while I do agree on principal that you should NOT just approach a dog, especially when the owner says not to, this is a "service animal". Isn't part of the training...not attacking kids? I apologize if I'm wrong and this isn't part of the deal with a service animal, but I thought amazing training and temperament was part of being a service dog. A legit one anyway.

Of course I do not think the poor animal should be put down or anything, I just have to wonder exactly what went on here leading up to the incident. If the dog was harassed, I get it. If the dog is just crabby and hates kids, sorry but probably shouldn't be a service animal with that temperament.

This is part of the training for a Service Animal, however, an ESA is not a Service Animal. A Service Animal is a dog or miniature horse which is trained to perform a function. An ESA is a pet that makes someone feel better by existing. No training is required to meet the definition.

I’ve raised five dogs as service animals (wheelchair) for two national organizations, and yes, the goal is for them to be absolutely bombproof in all situations. The reality is that all dogs have shortcomings in some areas, just like people. Could be loud noises, unstable surfaces, separation anxiety, prey drive, people food, even strange children. Incidentally - the ADA grants rights of access for service dogs in training, and I’ve traveled with all of mine as young as two months of age. American Airlines even has (or used to have) a “Traveling Angel” program where employees would transport service dog puppies in-cabin using their non-rev passes on days off. But back to this week’s issue - this one isn’t on the dog - it’s on the parent(s) who failed to restrain their kid.

Lol. I flushed my goldfish down the toilet but it was already dead. Poor "Robert, the Gold Fish". He lived a lot longer than I thought he would though.
