ride 709:anyone?

Our FSDO has several pilots to me for training prior to 709 rides. There is something they see in an accident, incident or violation that they would like to see on a check ride. Whatever this is, try to get some training in that area from a respected CFI in your area. Don't necessarily go back to the CFI who gave your initial training... after all, if you are deficient in an area it may be an area your CFI did not emphasize or may be weak in. As an example, one pilot who I trained for a 709 busted airspace in the KPHX area. The first flight I had with this guy he never used a check list and missed several important items, did not know how to use the avionics in his airplane (to include the autopilot and GPS beyond the direct to function), yet received 15 hours of dual in this exact airplane.:dunno:
It should go without saying but make sure you have all your required documents and the airplane maintenance is tight.

I know of someone who had to take a 709 as essentially a re-test of an instrument ride. Apparently things didn't go so well and he wound up losing his instrument rating.

Personally, I'm trying damn hard to avoid having to do this myself :)

And while we're at it, does anyone have information about keeping employment at GoJet a secret? I don't fly for them or anything, and I'd like to keep it that way, but I'd just like to find out more about y'alls experience.

:D

:sarcasm:
Haha. That's a good one!

I knew a guy who got a 709. VFR into IMC. All his certs and ratings revoked. Then he inadvertenly entered a spin on the ride while under the hood. It took him about 3 yrs to get back to square one. I think he deserved every bit 'cause he's a prick.
