Retired vet wants to fly

I was medically retired in 2013 and never gave the medical certification much thought but have been wanting to fly all my life now, I flew a Cessna 152 on a discovery flight and I loved it.
Now I am seriously considering SUU/UL for flight training but I have to get my medical and that means I need to go off the meds for CFS and CPS.
Any chance I can get at least a class 2 medical with chronic fatigue/pain syndrome? Or is my dream just a dream?
Thanks guys for everything you do on this site.

Ground_Zero,
Hey brother, thank you for your service. I'll let Dr. Forred give you the professional info but I wanted to let you know there is hope.

I have the same issue. Gulf War Vet standing at a 90% rating. On top of CFS, I get migraines, IBS, and other issues. I had to find a way to deal with the chronic fatigue without meds and then prove to the FAA that it wasn't an issue. FAA is aware of all my issues and has allowed me to hold a class 2. I just got hired by a regional airline.

Keep the faith, no guarantees but there are people in your shoes who were able to earn their wings.

PM me if I can help. I can recommend a great AME in Colorado Springs who works with disabled Vets to help them through the process.
