Restoring antique aircraft

Hey guys,

I have been interested for a long time in joining an organization to help rebuild or restore historical aircraft. I did some research online but have had no luck so far. I am looking in the DC area. I thought maybe I could volunteer at the Air and Space museum at Dulles but I could find no information.

I recently watched a show where a P-38 was brough out from under 200 feet of ice! It was amazing.

There has to be a way where one can volunteer their time and maybe donate some money.

Thanks!
Mahesh

The CAF generally will take any volunteers they can get and I'd also look for museums (although with the Smithsonian in the area find a museum other than them may be hard).

Garber has closed and they are preparing the aircraft for the move to the new facility at Dullus.
