Response from Management

When I did the tour Ari seemed disinterested and was more concerned about playing with his dog. No, he didn't answer emails either. I think the Aviator is just an easy fat pay check and a way to a big fast car for him. When I arrived he'd left and was not visibly involved in the school. Maybe things were strained with Mike?

Well maybe he could tell what kind of person you are after just a couple of minutes. He was very prompt with my emails and more than helpful when I showed up at the school... and I'm used to people seeing my ugly mug and then running for the hills.

Let's see. . .

A bored person is uninterested. Do not confuse this word with the much rarer disinterested, which means “objective, neutral.”

Perhaps you're right? Perhaps you're not? Have you forgotten (if you ever knew) the fundamentals of business? Work it hard to reap the benefits, then move on before it drains your personal life. Then again, if what you were doing was your passion and you PERCEIVE it's not being run YOUR way or to YOUR standards, come back and affect a change.

Just a personal perspective, FF. As you know, you don't need to answer. PM me if you wish. Were you the constant victim of bullies when you were going up? Are you easily intimidated by loud boisterous individuals?

I can fix that. ;)

True. I have a cliche', "time is on my side." In time, you'll make comparisons with whom you dealt with in the military and with whom you're dealing with in civilian life. Believe me when I say civilian life interactions in the workplace CAN be significantly worse.

Watch. . .

Best of luck to you.

Yeah your right. I don't even know why I am arguing.

Anyway I will be at the school Monday afternoon to check it out. Looking forward to being there.

I know the feeling, believe me.

At any rate, make certain when you arrive, you ask the tough questions. Make certain you one attempts to sugar coat or blow smoke with their answers. Most importantly, understand it's YOUR dollars they want. That's the ultimate goal of any "business." Your dollars sustain their livelihood. The end result of you paying them is they providing you with their quality training for your bucks. This means mutual respect by both parties. If you sense this, see this, or experience this, take your dollars elsewhere.

One excellent aspect of JC is for folks to relate their "personal" experiences of many an academy or FBO from which they've flown. Understand that, as biased, unbiased, incisive, or ludicrous/frivilous those inputs can be, you shouldn't go there without asking detailed questions to elevate your comfort level about their program can for you. I truly encourage you to do so. Again, don't back down from asking the tough questions. Truly, they are there to impress you their program is what you want for you with your dollars. If not, many other worse/as good as, or better programs close by should be considered and either accepted or rejected.

Yeah I plan to check out flight saftey academy and also pheonix east before I make my decision.

Thanks for the advise.

It's not your mug Gonzorox, it's that frickin Boston accent. You sound like an extra from Good Will Hunting. :D

Hey Ari, not sure if you remember me (I am Alec)..did my training way back when around 2000 when I was in high school. Got my private, multi, instrument and most of my commercial done there. Anyways, I am graduating next year, and I am wondering if you only take apps for instructors who have gone through your pro course? TJ mentioned back in the day that when I graduated and I was interested to let them know. Welcome to the forum btw. :-)
