A couple of questions: Is the pro pilot cost a fixed cost? In other words, if instead of requiring 212 hours to master the necessary components, I require 225 hours, how will this be billed? Just an example.
Also, does the price include fuel and oil and such, or is this a dry charge with a fuel surcharge?

i think that sums it up. last I knew it was wet, the cost includes fuel and oil. and you would have to pay the difference for the extra hours you fly.

When I did the tour Ari seemed disinterested and was more concerned about playing with his dog. No, he didn't answer emails either. I think the Aviator is just an easy fat pay check and a way to a big fast car for him. When I arrived he'd left and was not visibly involved in the school. Maybe things were strained with Mike?

Thanks. Although I have no idea if I will suck or not (since I am just a 47 hour Private Pilot) I know I have the right attitude and experience teaching while in the Air Force. Not to mention most people in the AF are not motivated at all.

Rostato, by suck they mean someone that might crash the plane. More importantly though it's someone that has a really bad attitude. There was one instructor down there that I trained that was fired. He was an aeronautical engineer, but he liked to milk his students and thought that he knew more than everyone else. He got the boot.
Otherwise they hired dilberts like me, and helped me get a job at an airline. If you could make it through the airforce you'll be fine.

I'm going to have to disagree with you about your perception of "most" people in the AF not being motivated. You definitely weren't part of the military when individuals were being drafted, so you never had a perspective of someone who were doing something they never wanted to do in the first place as opposed to someone who volunteered to join an organization then became disillusioned about it. I chalk that viewpoint up to idealistic deflation.
. . .which is a perspective many should have about any organization, Ari Ben included. People come in expecting this Eureka/Utopian environment and see the "real world" with all the pros and cons of interacting with people both good and bad. Most, and I do mean MOST benefit from their experiences; some actually enjoy. Conversely, there are those who perceive their experiences as the worst thing that has ever happened to them. Graduates and nongraduates of Ari Ben are examples of those people with varied experiences.
It might be right for you; it might not. You might be an excellent instructor; you might simply wish to do your time and leave.
Perform your due diligence before you make a decision.

Well, I had to deal with alot of people in the maintenance world that were put into these jobs that didnt want to be. Yes,they were stupid for joining the military with an open general or mechanical general job and then getting crew chief as thier job.
Also, alot of people only join the military to help pay for college anyway.
I joined because I had nothing else better to do and it was the best desiscion I ever made.
Your correct in that it wouldnt be as bad as a draft, but the military sucks balls right now, especially for people who really didnt want thier job. On top of that kids now a days have no perception of discipline and military structure. Every one is worried about there feelings getting hurt anymore. I find it extremly funny.
I really enjoyed my stay in the AF but I realized how horrible the situation is with the military and chose to get out before it gets too bad.
Now I am taking my VA benifits and spending them the fastest way possible...flying.

True. I have a cliche', "time is on my side." In time, you'll make comparisons with whom you dealt with in the military and with whom you're dealing with in civilian life. Believe me when I say civilian life interactions in the workplace CAN be significantly worse.
