Response from Management

Ok, this is my first post here. I am an instructor at Ari Ben. Mike Cohen has helped me out in the years that I have been a student and an instructor. First he gave me a job refueling airplanes when I was a student and having a hard time making my bills and paid me well over the minimum wage. Second, he helped me out recently with a financial situation that I didnt have the means to take care of. Ari Ben did go through a few rough months with maintenance issues and also weather issues. This is unavoidable at any flight school. As for N110SU I was the instructor on board when the nose gear wouldnt come down. This was a system malfunction not maintenance or pilot error. Was not something that could be checked in a pre-flight. What my student posted on the other message is how it happened. In my opinion Ari Ben is one of the few flight schools that offer this kind of training in multi engine airplanes at reasonable prices. Im sure a lot of you know who I am because I have seen a lot of you guys come and go. Anyway have a Happy New Year. If anybody has questions feel free to message me.

Here's my quote from the "110SU how bad?" thread:

Excellent synopsis!!! Excellent job bringing it down safely!!! Kudos to you guys both for a job well done!!!

You're absolutely right. Ari-Ben is one of the few flight schools that offer this kind of training. . . .at reasonable prices. Many individuals post satisfactory training during their stay. Additionally, interaction between staff, faculty, and students generally speaking has been good.

Conversely, everyone, from indications on posts both threads and PMs, does not share the same perspective of Mike C's benevolent nature which might possibly be, from their viewpoint, counterproductive to the overall possible positive aspects of the school.

I'm certain with a few more of the staff now posting, we'll again receive a balanced perspective of the school.

Thanks for sharing.

Ari,

Thank you for taking responsive action and becoming a reputable source of information on behalf of Ari-Ben inc.

I'm not sure if it is still too early to ask the following questions, but I am still interested in the program and I always try to be optimistic.

What would be the student to instructor & student to aircraft ratio during the month of March or April 2008?

If the student did there part as far as studying and being prepared what would be a realistic time frame for completion of the Career program?

How are the housing conditions i.e. (enough housing for students, students per room, maintenance) ?

Any information always welcome.

I do not know the student to instructor ratio that far in advanced due to the fact I dont know which instructors will get hired before then. Hopefully with the amount of instructors coming up it will be 3-4:1. I will give all of you an update soon.

As long as the student is prepared the realistic time for completion of the course with already having a PPL is 4-5 months.

It has always been a policy at Aviator that it is one person per bedroom. That will stay the same.

Hope everyone had a great new yr.

How is everything going Ivan?

good... i think I might come over sometime next week. wanna get some lunch at the Tiki :D I miss flying the Duchess. Maybe ill ask if i can back seat a flight. :)

What's the going rate for a $50 block?

Also, I live in Tampa - how practical would it be for me to buy the block and come up to Aviator on the weekends until I had completed my time?

All sales questions please send me an email to ari@aribenaviator.com so I can find more about what ratings and total time you currently have.

I assume you're speaking to the poster on a specific basis, so let me ask a more generic question.

To quote from your site:

Our "Twin-Time" program offers 100 hours of Multi-Engine flying time anywhere within the Continental United States and the Caribbean when scheduling permitting. Flying with the "Aviator" is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

For this naive person as I am, as it applies to "time building," generally speaking, when the term "scheduling permitting", does this mean the time building is done during non-prime time hours? Again, this is just a general question, for if I have specifics related to either myself or interested parties, we'll call directly to inquire about our case by case situation.

Additionally, for my own edification, is the time, given the fact -

Lacking actual IFR? Aviator encourages flights into actual IFR conditions.

Is this safety pilot (PIC) time as well whereby you're paired with another time building individual. . .generically speaking?

"Aviator encourages flights into actual IFR conditions."

I mentioned this a year ago. You can't do the safety pilot thing IMC. At least not per the FAR's.

. . .and I'll go back to the FAR just to be sure, but I thought if you were instrument rated, you could. I'll recheck. Thanks.

Oh, I took the question over to the "safety pilot" thread. Didn't wish to steal this one.

Time building usually does start about 5-6 pm. If a student does want to take a airplane on a long cross county(3-5 days) the time builder will be able to do so as long as he or she schedules in advance.

DE727UPS is correct, when in IMC only one person can long PIC.

Hey DE727

Just Checking to see if I knew you, How long have you been in Spokane?

I Started flying long ago in Twisp, but finished my PPL up in Deer Park with Ron Hienrich in the early 90s.:panic:

My brother, Allen passes gas for Spokane Airways on the commercial side, but use to work the line and has worked there for eons.

Job has got my in Dallas now, like it down here. I live on an airpark (eagles nest)
