Republic

Im not sure what 135s are still out there. I think DL is taking 9 E140s. Probably gave them a 'blue light' special .

I read some place that they were going to replace the skywest bros out of slc. It was on some 10k about delta a few months ago.

I believe they are taking 140's out of AA (replaced by retread 145s) and using 140's for DL out of DTW. So yes to 140's but I havent seen anything concrete about SLC. 140s are already on schedule for DTW.

FYI.....Republic has recently signed a deal with a Casino company and using 5 190s to support it. New Bases in ACY, IFP (Laughlin NV).

Saw that also... can you say involuntary displacement? I can't imagine that many people wanting to move, especially to Laughlin, NV.

I think they will fill it, voluntarily, with no problem. ACY will have lots of people who live in easy driving range. IFP could be filled by the people who live in the pHX or LAS area, and/or anyone trying to jump certificates.....BUT with all that said, i think its pretty clear that F9 is shedding all the 190s so theyll have to displace somewhere eventually.

heard from a buddy of mine from a career fair(i think aero crew solutions) which RAH was at and on APC that RAH plans to hire 700+ pilots next year...
........uh why and how the hell are they gonna find that many pilots...

I wouldn't hold my breathe on that one... If United and Airways hire full bore with attrition as planned I could see mayyyybe 400?

There are barely enough qualified candidates today. Where are they going to come from tomorrow?

NewHires...be prepared for the potential of IFP or ACY.

Yeah sometimes people round up the numbers and rumors/maybes turn into God-given fact... Truth is all of this hiring is because of new flying, not attrition. The Casino Flying and Q400 United flying has caused the need for more pilots, but attrition is down. I was moving up by 20-25/month in August, last month only 9 and Im still a pretty junior FO. Plus if the majors start to hire they'll be pulling pilots from every other regional, not just here. Most of the CA's I talk to wont leave here for Airways under they're current contract, they want Delta/UPS/FDX...

That's why Im not quite onboard with the craziness... Yet. :)

Just left the Republic Headquarters in Indianapolis today for my interview and it was very straight forward. Anyone that has an interview coming up, just study the gouge from Shuttle America on APC, or www.aviationinterviews.com. There is absolutely no gimmicks. Started with a 30 minute presentation on the company history, plans for growth, benefits, etc. Then headed back to the break room to collect drug and alcohol paperwork with PRIA stuff. Next we took the 20 question ATP test, followed by the Wonderlic. That is NOTHING to stress over, it was actually quite fun in a weird way.

After this they began interviews. Mine consisted of basic HR questions, then the technical portion was reading a METAR and TAF. Briefed an approach plate, talked about CRM, and that was pretty much it. Still no word on whether I will be offered the job or not, but it is definitely a stress free environment. If the company pulls through with their expected growth, this may not be a bad time to get on.
