Pretty sure if the company put out something that had typos it would be torn apart on STW and the like.
Hold yourself to a high standard. Everyone makes mistakes but don't get butt hurt when people point them out.

Is the information helpful? There is a potential error in the message in regards to the Q400 rates being negotiated between Teamsters and Horizon.

Are these graphics tailored to give the voter the maximum amount of unbiased information, or is this slanted just to sway a no vote?

We complain all the time that our unions "sell" the TAs. I don't need to see a "sell" from either side. Facts, please, not emotion.

Would you take those graphics and turn them into bill boards, as is, to try and gather public support? Or send them to the media? You can't say you're professionals and then write like a 5 year old.

Whoever says it dilutes the message is right.

Forgot to add: There is a factually incorrect statement on those graphics. The Teamsters did NOT negotiate the Horizon rates. They were arbitrated "baseball-style". @SurferLucas ....?

Incorrect. The current Horizon rates are part of a contract extension that was negotiated by the teamsters. Arbitration is possible, but the rates were negotiated.

It's not about that. Who are those posters designed for? If it's the guys that are already going to vote no then there is really no point in making them. Shiny feel good infographics that support your cause specifically designed for people who already support your cause is nothing more then mental masturbation. If on the other hand (hehe) these infographics are designed for people outside the echo chamber (uncertain voters, yes voters and people with no vote who you are simply trying to inform), having factually questionable information (other regionals have 1% pay bumps and far worse duty rigs than what is proposed here) and really bad spelling errors hurts your cause tremendously. The factual errors make people question all the data presented and the spelling errors look sloppy and make people question the analytical skills of the people writing these and by extension the validity of the data.

I had old information, sorry. The last I had heard was the hard fought victory in arbitration that secured very good rates for your pilots.
 
Forget the typos and spelling errors (although that is pretty bad); focus on the fact that a lot of the information presented in those graphics is just flat out wrong. If you want to win people over to your side, lying to them isn't a good way to start.

The contract that was signed a few years prior had a baseball style arbitration in it, and we won that. After that, the company stepped up and said "we'd like to give you higher pay rates since we had our asses handed to us by the arbitrator". I'll see if I can find a link to the ruling, the arbitrator was pretty scathing in his remarks about the company and their "metrics".

He has a point and if pilots actually listened to those involved in creating messages they would realize you lose credibility by failing the most basic tasks.

Otherwise, the medium used is appropriate. Hopefully someone spends a bit of money and has these professionally printed.
 
Word is Dubinsky told some of our guys in a meeting (paraphrasing here) "welp as a 747 CA I made more in a month than most of you in a year. You should be happy to get this much... And I know pilots, this TA will pass!"

Real piece of work this guy.
 
Captain Dubinsky is a legend. He has his strong points. But he's no professional negotiator, so I don't know why the IBT thought it would be a good idea to put him in such a position.

He still has my favorite union quote of all time: "We don't want to kill the goose that laid the golden egg; we just want to choke it by the neck until it gives us every last egg"
