As promised some pluses. Some are also give and take, others just give.
1. Pay raises, this of course is mixed, some will take what they can get others always feel like they're entitled to more. I would probably vote yes on these rates if it weren't for all the other issues we have. 1st year FO starts out at 26/hr to yr 9 at 47.26 for DOS+1. At DOS +4, a year 9 FO would cap at 49.42/hr, all F/O pay same regardless of equip. CA pay jumps at a bit but of course hourly increases go most to FO's. 20 year DOS+4 CAs on the 145 will top at 114.97 (up from ~103ish), 170/175 CA's " " will cap at 122.48/hr (up from 113-117ish), 190 CA's " " 132.77/hr (up from 119ish).
a. Taxi pay increases, (previously 12 minutes or 0.2) now 15 min for outstation and 30 minutes for hub. There is a list of defined hubs in article 1 thank God.
b. Increase from 7 to 8 recognized holidays: Used for the plus 4 hours credit pay on holidays, but it does not towards the 125% premium pay grrr.... (Day after Thanksgiving is the added holiday)
c. Higher PD, 1.80 at DOS, 1.90 plus 2 years DOS, 2.00 plus 4 DOS. Still short of AE and friends, I was getting 2.00/hr PD back in 2007 at a previous corporate gig
d. Rigs, trip and duty rigs as debated above are better than nothing, but really just recover the credit that has been lost due to the new 117 regs. Not really a big gain here.
2. All MX calls are recorded. I already thought they were, but either way its good to have this in writing, I've heard some stories...
3. Cancellation pay. A big sticking point, the language basically says trip by trip, not leg by leg. So if your over block the first leg and the and a turn gets CX on day 3 of four, the lost time will cx out down to what ever the trip was guaranteed at. I could also accept this if it wasn't for other shortcomings.
4. I re-read the LOA on co-basing, basically any group of airports within' 50 statute driving miles, and have to be agreed upon by the union. This is stupid, another no-go here from me. MIA to FLL not so bad, but MDW/ORD or EWR/LGA/JFK? pfff yeah right. They just made the most commutable places in the country uncommutable w/o a crashpad, Delta or American is one thing, but a regional? really?
There's other stuff of course, I'll let others chime in about the finer points of the TA language. I think the response will be something like:
