Republic TA

Things don't just come out of a contract that easily. You have to bargain for everything.

Right, but in my opinion those two things are what people are griping about the most with the TA.

I know you don't get something for nothing, but if one thing is something the company supposedly can't even legally use...and the other is something they're on the record of saying they don't intend to use...you probably don't have to give up much. To me, it would be worth the peace of mind.

There are plenty of us on here that will let you know when we finally see it.
He knows, he is just taking a shot at all the people on this and other websites claiming it is the greatest TA ever, when the RAH pilots haven't even seen it yet, but some how half the pilots at Eagle seen to think they have seen it and we have a few LEC reps claiming it is so good they would vote yes on it.

"But they don't know we know they know we know!!!"

"But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it"

Apparently, the targeted date for the pilots to see the TA is March 7th.

Which is interesting, considering
1) there are rumors that Eagle management may come back to the table after all,
And
2) Bedford has stated that Republic isn't being looked at for more jets than already allocated.

I'm starting to wonder if Eagle and Republic pilots are being played against each other.

The wait for us to see the TA is because of the union and not the company.

If that's the case, can't the Eagle MEC just ask the company for some time to think about it too and then wait to see what the Republic TA actually is?
I can't see how the Eagle MEC would be under any obligation to negotiate so long as the current contract hasn't reached its amendable date.

That said I would imagine playing along would build some political capital if the NMB becomes involved.

Well, technically the company isn't coming back to the table. Or so they claim. Recent rumors say otherwise.

The Eagle pilot group isn't under any obligation- we have a standing, court approved eight year contract in force as we speak. That's the messed up thing- we were told to negotiate or liquidate- because the company wanted to buy new planes. Whut?

Now that management has recanted its threats of shutdown, all we really have to do is go on with life as usual. That, and laugh while the company tells obvious lies and then has to eat crow again.

Ehhh it doesn't seem like Eagle will continue with life as usual, still lots that can happen. Your "war" isn't over. In fact, Skywest was told they're beefing up ORD for new AE flying.

The war is far from over, indeed. I must admit, even I felt a little grandiose using that term to describe this, but after the 'Confessions...' video I watched, it seems somewhat appropriate.

My point isn't that things won't change. Just that our current contract stands and there's no reason to act otherwise as far as that goes. As far as other things, those are other battles on other hills.

I work with and for a great many skilled, professional, dedicated people. I won't stand idle and watch them get rolled by a drunk and his pack of hired liars. They don't deserve it and neither do I.
