Republic question

I had a question for those who work there... I see that houston is a base for CHQ, but I was wondering first is it large enough to be practical to be based there. Also is it just for the CRJ or are both airframes located there (and if it is just the CRJ and they are phasing them out will the ERJ take its place?)

Thanks for any insight or help.

Its just a CRJ base right now and the company recently said they will be phasing them out over the next few years. All gone in about 2010? I wanna say. RAH would love to get more CO flying or at the very least keep what it has so IAH should be around for awhile. If you get hired make sure they know you want the CHQ certificate. If they give you Republic or Shuttle you will be locked in at that company until upgrade. Good luck

if it helps, they are still hiring like crazy on the CRJ. I just got it along with a bunch of other people. This damn plane needs more bases, or to get a better one than CRP.

:yeahthat:

I just heard they had a whole new hire class going to the CRJ. They told the new hire class that they extended the leases but I think that just may be management making the new hires feel good about it. Bedford keeps saying they are being either phased out or they are going to get painted in Delta colors and put on CVG routes and the 135s are going but who knows... The rumor mill over there is always turning. They have been talking about getting rid of the 135s for a long long time now and they are still going strong. Also the last leases expire in 2010, thats a long time and you should be getting ready to upgraded to something else by that point.
