Port Authority ARFF is staffed by Port Authority PD personnel, so all the ARFF at EWR/lga/jfk/TEB are both firefighters and cops.

cops are firefighters there, as NE said. A fair number of airports do their airport police and Fire dept in this way as a cost saving measure. Wearing dual hats, you get assigned one job one shift, the other on another shift; and cross-man as necessary.

The hardest part about recruiting both airport police and fire/ems personnel right now is that both jobs are boring AF. Maybe they’re onto something by at least mixing it up.
