Yeah... .. not being able to get anyone to show up to class will send a clear message. I can't imagine anyone going to work for an outfit up there that doesn't pay at least a liveable wage...I think Alaska aviation is going to go through a huuuge crisis here as old guys that run places fail to adapt to changes in the aviation job market. Namely, they all think that the same numbers that were good pay when they started 20-30 years ago will still attract competent, experienced pilots.
Well with Delta Connection going down to 100-120 50 seat regional jet fleet by the end of this year, I don't foresee the CHQ 145's sticking around much longer since that 100-120 number is all CRJs.I'm currently based in CLE, just awaiting the fallout from the reductions when they happen. I'm still hoping for a DTW base with all of our DL 145 flying that we do out of there.
How did a discussion on RAH turn into a discussion about Alaska? I don't think we are going to see a pilot shortage in Alaska, not as long as first year sled pay is better than first year rj pay.I think Alaska aviation is going to go through a huuuge crisis here as old guys that run places fail to adapt to changes in the aviation job market. I disagree, but then I see a different segment of the market than what you do. You are correct though that this is not the place for this discussion. How did a discussion on RAH turn into a discussion about Alaska? Huh, I hadn't heard they were all going to be CRJ's. News to me.Well with Delta Connection going down to 100-120 50 seat regional jet fleet by the end of this year, I don't foresee the CHQ 145's sticking around much longer since that 100-120 number is all CRJs.
