Republic Airlines Interview

Dxrookie1029

i regret not being named after a cool VOR
Hey everyone.... I am new to this forum but i figured i would post and see if anyone is in the same boat as i am. 3 weeks ago I interviewed with Republic airlines for a dispatcher I think the interview went rather well. I started by meeting with the DX manager from Republic we did some basic company history Discussed why a west wind at DEN causes delays and such then went over my resume had a rather casual talk for about 20 mins then I got a tour of the Frontier SOC and the Republic dx after that we went to his office and he showed me the seniority list for all 4 airlines told me that Frontier might be moving Back to Denver but that was a big if. The he showed me how to do a flight release in saber and we discussed wages $15.70 an hour and he explained that the union contact was up in May and that he didn't know for sure if the contract was going to be the same or if they would start out at a higher pay. The only dispatch related questions he asked me was to read a current metar and had me look at DET weather to determine if i needed an alt. then we talked about the Indianapolis and how it has a lower cost of living that denver. Then he told me there was an opening in republic for a dispatcher also shuttle america had and opening and frontier was building an eligibility list. After about 40 mins with him the woman from HR came in and I answered some typical HR questions. then she asked me which airline i would prefer to work for told me about the republic opening and shuttle opening again and about frontiers list I told her i would rather work for shuttle or republic bc i still had a lot to learn and I wanted to build up experience before I really could consider going to a major airline. long story short we talked for about a half hour and she escorted me to the lobby and went to interview pilots. I was over all pleased with the whole experience I got good Vibes from everyone I met. But it has been almost three weeks and i haven't heard anything from them yet. The dispatch manager said I would get an answer pretty quickly because they were starting classes in 3 weeks. I know this is the airline industry and every time line is a rough estimate I am just wondering if anyone has interviewed with Republic airways in the past month and heard anything yet? I just want to kind of set my mind at ease for now and see if anyone else is in the same boat i am in or has any advice to why this has seemed to stretch out so long Or am I just being Impatient? Suggestions, Questions, Comment? open to everything here I know airlines take their sweet time hiring is this what i am experiencing.

My interview last 15 min with them. Got a email 10 minutes after leaving the building saying i was in the dispatch hiring pool. A week or two later got a call saying I got the job with F9. From your experience written above it sounds like they might have changed the process.

i was originally supposed to interview with Frontier or so they said but i ended up in an interview with the SOC manager from Republic so maybe they have

My experience was the exact same but opposite results. Got an email before I even made it back to the Limo saying thanks but no thanks. I personally blame it on the HR lady assuming I was an A&P because I fueled planes for four years and she didnt like it when I had to correct her lol, never once stated anywhere I was an A&P. In the end best result I could have ever asked for because my next offer landed me a gig dispatching wide body a/c on international long haul routes so whos laughing now hahahaha.

So let me ask this when did you guys interview with them? late december 11/ early Jan12 my interview was Feb 22nd

A co-worker of mine had an interview with them about 3 weeks ago too and hasn't heard anything back from them either...

I haven't heard anything yet it will be a month on the 22nd.... but i did get an email from Hr telling me the supervisor of maint. position was cancelled lol

I say keep the lines of communication open and apply elsewhere. You could be like izanti and get another offer that is better.

I was supposed to have a phone interview with GoJet earlier this year and they never called me at the scheduled time. I called and emailed them to no avail and then suddenly a couple weeks ago they email me saying thanks but no thanks. I thought how can one base their decision off a resume and an alleged interview that never took place? It didn't matter anyway because I had accepted an offer from Spirit Airlines. I leave for Miramar on Thursday and start 4/2

If you ever met their manager of dispatch you would know why. And you don't want to know my opinion of him either. Congrats on the Spirit offer, Wayyyyy better industry experience than "Hoejet".

I have so many Applications in right now i know something will break sooner or later i am just hoping it is sooner :-)

When you write things that go on and on and never stop or just look confusing we have a hard time reading it since it becomes a runon sentence that never ends and never has a point unless you then go a bold something that makes no sense to this super long sentence that ends in supercalifragilisciousexpialidocius .

I understand it sounds great in your head, but we really need proper english to answer all of your questions properly. Thank You for using JetCareers.
