I noticed when looking at Renters Insurace w/ AOPA and Avemco, that it's for Single-Engine aircraft. What about someone with a private AMEL, where do they go for coverage?
That's probably hard to get. I know that multi insurance for an owner-pilot is pretty expensive: AOPA's Twin Commanche would be about $7000 a year in premiums, and that is for someone with a lot of time in type.
Usually for FBOs the policy (at least down here in FL) require something like 200 hours with an instructor before you can solo it. And even then the policy covers them and not you.
There is no renter's insurance for multi engine aircraft so far as I know. The minimums mentioned are times to even try to get a checkout, that does not mean you're insured.
