Anyone know their upgrade times?

If anybody wants inside scoop, PM me. One of my former CFI's is in training there now. There's also another JCer that knows more about them than I do. We both know some folks there . . .

Sweet. 150 hours to go and I qualify for that one. Pay sucks, but at least it's in the right state.....

Yeah like everyone has already said, the pay sucks. The two aircraft they are flying are the Jetstreams and they should be starting up with the Saab 340's here soon (Guessing because like Lloyd said someone just recently was hired into the 340 class). My old instructor is currently in upgrade training to Captain for the Jetstream. I want to say that he has been there for maybe 6-9 months as a first officer can't really remember offhand. A few of the people I know there, that have been hired there within the past year have usually been based out of St. Loius and have to commute up there from Nashville. I know that it didn't take too long for them to get into the Nashville base after being at St. Loius for a little while. But that is about all I can think of right now.

Related to Regions, the NTSB released the report for the JBall crash in Kirksville two years ago. Report is here. The interesting thing is that they list fatigue as a factor. That's the first time I have seen that in a report. Other causes are mostly listed as Pilot Error, which as we all know is some times hit or miss. The CVR doesn't sound as bad as the 9E crash, but there are a fair number of "dudes" and what not.

looks like they have a whopping 11 destinations including the hub, after a while not knowing the airport won't be a valid excuse anymore lol

How many companies do American express I wonder? I can think of 3 or 4 just off the top of my head. HAHA, that's funny, err I mean American CONNECTION lol

Looking to move back to the "Loo"?

Maybe ... just trying to keep options open. I like where I am right now, and plan on upgrading but the 1900 side might be closed off for my time line (we have some internal changes going on that make the 1900 suddenly popular, go figure).

If I had to go somewhere I'd rather it be somewhere I'm familiar with (and ya can't beat home).

Regions is starting up service throughout the East Coast as well. I think they are coming in to a lot of the cities that US Air and Continental had the only flights available.

6-9 months? WOW. If I didn't have any strings attached I'd probably do it. They definately have PLANS to expand - however plans don't always come true and you could be stuck in the right seat...

I did have a friend who knew a fellow instructor who left Regions/Corporate Air for ExpressJet. I'm not sure why.

That's two more places than I go to in the Saab! haha I swear, I hardly ever get out of Texas.

That works out pretty good with my parole officer though, I just have to give him 24 hours notice when I go to Lawton or Shreveport...

Keep in mind that the Saabs have been coming for as long as I can remember. However this time it does seem to be more of a done deal then in the times before. They have already been awarded flying out of CVG to a couple of hillbilly WV cities as EAS. This replaced AMWest I believe. They will be doing this flying under their own colors and are trying to get a interline bag agreement with Delta for CVG. Even though they have already got a contract, doesnt mean its for sure. A few years ago they were awarded a contract to do DCA flying to a handful of NC cities, it never happened and the DCA slots were given to someone else. Upgrade times have been relatively short over the past few years, I know a handful that upgraded in just over a years time in the J32. They have been awarded an extention of 2 years, I think, on their EAS corn City flying out of STL. Im sure its terrific experience for someone looking to break in, but I wouldnt classify it as a "Place to Be". Crappy Airplane, Crappy Pay, Crappy Mgmt/Employee relationship, Crappy routes, No APU, No AP, NO FA. Plusses would be, NO FA, good learning experince, attractive flight time for fututre employment, possible quick upgrade. ESTEBAN!

Eek! You're destroying the dream of some of the young neophytes that are mesmerized by the glossy ads in Flying magazine!
