If you are on reserve, how much time are you allowed to report? Say for example,I am hired by Pinnacle and am on reserve in MEM.Or Eagle in DFW.Thank you, DONT DO NOTHING DUMB ,,,,,T.C.

It depends on individual work rules at each airline. We have an hour and a half callout at each domicile except for ORD which is 2 hours.

Where I work, there are two levels of it:

2 hours
12 hours

About 10% of the reserve lines are 12 hour callout; the rest are 2 hour callout.

Just out of curiousity, how is that new ASA contract coming along?

Well, of the things I cared about (pay and scheduling), I haven't gotten paid yet and the schedules don't change till January... so I dunno :).

If you are hired at Pinnacle you will be given 1.5 hours to be sitting at the gate ready to "kick the tires and light the fires.."

Sometimes they will try and "NEEEED you there ASAP!" to which you will reply..

"No problem, be there in 1.5..."

Even if you are sitting at the next gate over;)

Pretty much. If management can drag their feet on our contract negotiations, I can drag my feet enough to get Starbucks......and a magazine......and a Coke to take with me.....

Now, if labor relations were actually GOOD, I think you'd see a lot more people willing to help out. We've just been burned too many times when we extend an act of good will. There's only so many favors I can do, and when I start calling them in and getting "Yeah, we can't do that for you," I stop doing them.

At Comair...

-Ready Reserve
-Short Call: 1.5 hours / JFK = 2 hrs.
-Long Call 1: 9 hrs.
-Long Call 2: 12 hrs.
