Regional or Corperate

You better be going fast, you're sitting in a cockpit the size of a Cessna 150.

Really? So I suppose we're just lumbering along at mach .80??

[/ QUOTE ]

.80??? hehehehe, that's our climb speed to FL430
spin2.gif

Heck, we can do .82 with the Mach trim inop.

[/ QUOTE ]

So who here has flown above Mach 1?

That's what I thought.

Sit down, peons........

[/ QUOTE ]

Hey, I've seen an F14 do it when I was on the carrier. Does that count for something?

Pretty Cool sight.

Speaking of peeing on things......just where do you go in a SSF? I take a nice stroll throught the cabin to a stand up lav, maybe walk back and grab a Coke. And, I don't have to fly in green pajamas.
grin.gif
(Wish I had though).

PS....Just how long will a plane stay aloft at M 1?

That's the beauty of it. He doesn't even have to get up. He can just pee away in his pants. What would your pax think or say if you pee'd your pants?

Oh, the plane can sustain about 12 minutes of flight at M1, until gas begins becoming a problem. Pretty useful, huh?

I can't stroll around.....am stuck to my "first class" seat, and all the "comforts" that come with it, or not.......

Count me in. The next question is who has flown supersonic below 1000' AGL. Me also.

Im definitely glad I went to a regional. A year and 8 months and got a captain slot in an RJ.

I hated the corporate life... flew king airs and saratogas at my former job. Flew way to few hours a month... sat around and waited. If you get hired at a decent corporate gig its ok....but you won't get hired at a place like that after being a CFI. NetJets is the equivalenth of a large airline and has the requirements as such... though the pay is lower and you're flying smaller equipment.
If theres one thing I hate when I'm at work it's not working. I like to come in...fly my butt off for 3 or 4 days..and be off, though it is nice to have a good layover occasionally (which we do get). Entirely too much sitting in corporate. The most we ever sit is 4 hours...usually got a 25-50 minute turn at the outstation and youre out for another run.

The slower you go, the more you get paid.

No way man, we are salaried.....the more we fly the less we make.

Nothing beats cruising at .81, and then getting up and taking a nice stroll thru the cabin to grab a Coke...

....and then serving that Coke and some catering trays to the pax. The best part about Part 135 ops.

NOT!

Would you be saying that if you had to wait 5 years, especially at regional f/o wages? Timing is everything in this industry - it has everything to do with luck.

That totally depends on what kind of lifestyle he wants.

IMO, nothing beats being able to jumpseat anywhere. Flew 6 days this month and am now enjoying the rest of the month in Australia. Non-rev bennies rule!

Anyone heard of Diamond Air? My friend's boss just bought the company, and I wanted to get some info on them before I started "pestering" the guy for a j-o-b.

And Im definitely glad I went the corporate route. Its kind of like saying there is some out there for everyone ... there is something satisfying out there for everyone. The key is finding what it is you like and going for it. My current job is totally satisfying and fits me to a tee, it may not be the job for everyone but it truly suits me well.

For sure Jim.

The world that I'm in fits me great... I really enjoy airline ops. For someone else this would suck..it's definitely not perfect but I defintiely like where I'm at and where I'm going.

I gotta say.. that Citation X is one heck of a cool looking aircraft. Was in HPN the other day..rolled right by one...that thing has such a presence on the ramp.

Q: How do you know when you're having dinner with an F-16 pilot
A: He'll tell you.
