Regional/Mainline question

Here so I don’t get fined
When you fly for an airline like Chautauqua do you pretty much only fly for one carrier (US Express, DL Connection, etc) or do they switch you as they want or can you bid to fly for certain ones? Do you have to do extra training if you do switch (say from flying DL branded planes to US ones)?

Those whom I know fly for all of the colors.... I know a few based in Columbus for CHQ and they seem to touch all the colors from DAL/USairways/CAL.... I think some in STL might only do the American Connection stuff... But perhaps those whom actually work for an airline that does more then one brand can comment more.... I think it is going to be different as some places fly certain planes for one company such as Mesa flies the CRJ700 under united, and the CRJ900 under USairways....

CHQ, ASA, Skywest, Shuttle, RAH, Xjet, Mesa all fly for more then one carrier... So you might get a few different responses....

Colgan flies for us, ual, and cal. Depends on the airplane, and the base. If you area Q pilot you will only fly for cal, an IAH pilot, prob. Only cal. NE guys on the Saab may be tdy'ed to a base serving a different code share, but it doesn't happen all that much anymore

I fly for Chautauqua. When I was based in Columbus, I could fly any contract on any day. The only differences training was an hour in class about the paperwork. I think I started one morning on a United leg or two and then did Continental out and back and ended the day with a Delta leg. We also flew US Airways out of CMH.
