If you have the times, study "Turbine Pilot's Flight Manual" and try for Compass. We are gonna need people.

As info, the 'other place' is reporting PSA jumpseat denials.

I wish ALPA would police CAs that deny jumpseats a bit better. The only justification for a denied jumpseat is the "list". Anything else, and you really should be censured or perhaps lose CASS or KCM for a while.

Even "the list" is not a justification. Why would you hold something against them for something that happened when you were in diapers? It happened, and today they are regular dues-paying ALPA members like any other. This self-serving punish another mentality doesn't do any good when it comes to people trying to commute to/from work. That guy you screw by denying a jumpseat could one day be the guy you need the permission to jumpseat with. Or worse, on the other side of the table in an interview.

Make a list of your priorities, in order of precedence. Then make a list of all the carriers that you think you might want to work, find the one that meshes with your priority list and then begin targeting these carriers for your interview prep. Best of luck, but remember this important fact. The airline industry is VERY fluid, and what what might be the state of the industry today may in fact, be MUCH different 12-months from now. Consider other entry-level forms of flying besides the airlines. You could very well be a prime candidate for a carrier like, Cape Air or a 135 operator like Amerflight. You will gain the kind of experience as an AVIATOR that isn't possible unless you go to Commutair, Piedmont, Skywest (EMB-120) or Silver...SKW on the "bro" would be my first choice if I was a young guy, and AVOID the other two like the Bubonic plague!

I would hope to never be interviewed by a person who crossed a picket line. ALPA shouldn't have forgiven the folks that crossed anyway.

There are few things out there worse than scabbing... I won't ever understand why you think it's okay.

I never said it is okay to scab. I said it isn't okay to play jumpseat games for your own personal agenda.

Why should a person who went to work when his or her co-workers were legally on strike be allowed the privilege of sitting on those jumpseats?

Because the strike is over. A long time ago. Plus, the jumpseat (and jumpseat privileges) are airline/TSA given for pilots, and are not a right. We enjoy that privilege. The last thing we need is a few pilots (especially those in diapers when the 80s strikes happened) getting on some moral high horse and denying a jumpseat. The guy you screw today out of a jumpseat could very well be the CA you have to ask for a ride with to/from work.

*sigh*
