Regional FO's to majors

How did this become another ALPA thread?

Because this thread is in the "Airline Pilots" sub-group. Perhaps you're not aware, but much of what 'Airline Pilots' have is directly due to ALPA. So that's my guess why ALPA is included in this thread.
Don't like it...go corporate.

I don't think @mastermags is anti-ALPA.

I'm from the biggest non union airline in America, and even I can put down my ego to realize that the unions are not only necessary, they're the reason the profession is where it is today.

Things would be FAR Worse without them.

I yearn for the day skw votes a union in. The first step is to educate the more senior guys here about what a union can do and why we need them.

Not suggesting he is. Merely pointing out that any thread in the Airline Pilots group could include commentary about ALPA or any other airline union for that matter. One needn't be surprised when ALPA discussion is included in airline conversations.

Agreed. Just didn't want people thinking he was one of the anti-union crazies. :)

I'm a little confused here. Who exactly is anti-Union?

Do I need to quote myself, because I can:

I'm not anti ALPA.

You ALPA cheerleaders need to get off your high "if it ain't ALPA, I'm not going" horse.

@Nark I know it appears @Seggy and @ATN_Pilot seem to be ALPA cheerleaders but those two have disagreed more with some of the past leadership than anyone I know.

They do have a strong and public presence but they are hardly ALPA cheerleaders on every topic. I think they support the great safety advancements as well as the collective bargaining that has taken place.

I haven't done nearly the work they have, but I've been apart of a lot of the work they have done. It might be hard to see at quick glance but it has helped us (aviation advocates) as a whole.

Enjoy your new shop. I'll never forget riding on a 1900 from MCO to MIA with @ATN_Pilot old MEC chair the night they went on strike. Your fellow pilots did a great service to our profession and you should be proud to work with them.

I know you have done good work with your precious carrier. I'm sure when the time is right you will do the same with your current. Continue to push the bar higher and we will all benefit no matter where we work.
