Referral List Status

Hi,
How can you tell if you are on a referral list? When i log into ASAP i have the following messages:
Application Status
- Your application for announcement # AAC-AMH-08-PUBNAT1-08232 has been received. Please check back after the announcement closes for status updates.
Referral list FA-AAC-08-13582: Issued on 06/06/2008 for the Throughout The Nation duty location at the FG-1 grade/payband.
- Your application is among those being reviewed by the office with announcement # AAC-AMH-08-PUBNAT1-08232. You may or may not be contacted for an interview. Please continue to check back for status updates.
Does this mean i'm on the list?

Is this really a serious question??? i dont understand how you couldnt get that you are on the list from reading that. its very obvious. and if you have spend even 5 minutes on this site in the past 4 days you would clearly know that EVERYONE has gotten that same message and has been talking about how they are happy to finally be Referred.
im sorry if i sound annoyed, but it is really annoying see all these new Threads with really dumb questions that have very obvious answers.

lol....all the people who come on here a lot to see if anything is goin on have to be getting annoyed at some of the stuff that gets asked around here...i dont know, maybe its me..anyone else out there feel the same?

Don't snap like that your first day on the job. It might send the wrong message. I don't mind the simple questions on here. It only helps to confirm that my assumptions weren't wrong. Plus this job may be really important to some people and they don't want to miss out in what has proven to be a very complicated process.

Not generally. Its going to happen when the FAA is hiring OTS. People have to start somewhere. My CTI classes are full of people that don't know the difference between a Tower and a Center. Wait till you get to OKC. You're going to find yourself very annoyed with OTS hires. However, your right in this case. The thing says it is a referral list, how much clearer can it get?

haha...thank you! atleast you partially agree....i understand there will be dumb questions, but stuff like the question that was asked just suck..haha

Ok, I tried to be nice, but I have to ask, "what's your problem?"
The guy asked a dumb question, we get it; which he immediately realized and asked to be deleted. So why are you still Royally "annoyed"? Have you never asked a dumb question?

Wow, I could be reading this wrong but essentially you are saying us OTS people in general are dumber than CTI people. I am sure lots of the current older controllers would love for you to say something like this on the job; most of them are OTS.
Just curious as to how you know what to expect in OKC if you aren't there yet? I have been through all kinds of classes and training programs from community colleges to major universities. Generally, the most annoying people are the ones who think they already know everything. Considering you are telling us what to expect in OKC, I am guessing you fall into that category.
