Redbird Flight Sim

The flight school i work at recently got the Redbird FMX http://www.redbirdflightsimulations.com/rbfmx and i am unsure how to log it in my students logbook, as far as aircraft type etc. no one else has given me a clear cut answer either.

my guess so far has been writing Redbird AATD in the aircraft type and aircraft ident columns.

is there a list the faa has, that would answer this?

It's probably just "Flight Training Device" time, unless it's certified as a "Full Flight Simulator" by the FAA.

We have a redbird sim at our flight school as well. I'll ask a couple of our full-time instructors how they are logging it in their student's logbook.

I'm not sure exactly what to do, but I'll put this up for you. Back in my ERAU flying days, they logged it like this

Aircraft type: F172 (Frasca 172)
Aircraft Identification: # of the FAA letter of approval, or something along those lines
Simulated Instrument: Duration of simulated time
Flight Simulator: Duration of time

But now that I think about it, it really shouldn't have been logged as flight simulator, because it was nothing more than a level 6 FTD.
