Red Bull Air Races-NYC

First off, anybody going? Second I was wondering if anyone has been to one of these races. I'm looking to purchase tickets, and wanted to know if the grandstand tickets are actually worth the extra money, or if standing room is good enough (kind of like a regular airshow).

I plan on attending, and i am actually wondering the same thing, whether or not to spend the extra couple bucks for the grandstands... Never been to one before but they are awesome to watch on TV

I go to the one in San Diego. Don't spend the extra cash. Just bring a lawn chair to sit on and you might end up with a better view.

Either spend the big money, or just find a place out of the general admission. If it's anything like SD the general admission is a mess. Much better views to be had without spending $40 bucks and (in some cases, literally) fighting the crowds. If you're not more than 6 feet tall and don't get there as the gates open you will be disappointed.
