Recurrent for Initial?

Is it an N registered King Air operated somewhere sandy?

Need a little more context to know if you’re doing it for insurance purposes, local authority requirement (EASA, DGAC, etc.)
Not an N number. Different country owned.
P.S. Very sandy.

So basically, study the hell out of the avionics
If they have any software or GFS, hit it non stop, to the point of absurdity.

B100 huh?
Going from Garrets to Pratts shouldn't be too much a problem, likely much easier with the PT6's
All the limitations will be different. (engines)

So yeah, priority 1, avionics, priority 2, engines and associated limitations and memory items.

Good luck, enjoy the sand.

I once sat through a Global Express MX Recurrent session despite the fact I'd never been afforded the benefit of the initial training. As I recall initial was a month in the schoolhouse up in Montreal and recurrent was a week in an office at KVNY. I'd already been working on Globals for a couple of years and while I did learn some stuff the main benefit was the company being able to say they had factory trained mechanics and I spent a week in air conditioned comfort not getting dirty.

That’s a fine aircraft. The 6000 even better :)

How bad do you need the gig? In my opinion king air recurrent with no type required, you will be fine. I did a recurrent “initial” in a RA390 with just a few hours in type wasn’t a huge issue as long as you show up to sim prepared.
This was at FSI a known product and where I have done several types now. If it’s some weird foreign off the wall sim center I might be worried.

Apropos of nothing but I was at XJT flying EMB-145s and left to fly Legacys out of Dubai. Even though I had never flown a Legacy, the flight deck was really the same as the ERJ. First stop was to Swiss Aviation Training in Zurich to do a PC in their sim and take an Air Law exam to get my UAE GCAA license. Maybe similar situation for you? But in the end it all worked out great and they just do things a little different in the Gulf.

Now I just got rescheduled for a 3 day recurrent class and an initial. Two sims and a check ride in a plane I've never seen.
If there is no type then it’s my understanding there is no Jeopardy to your license? What happens if you fail the check ride? Are they going to fire you? Retrain? Worst case what happens if you pass the check ride and you go fly for the company unprepared for real world flying the airplane? Odds are you might die. Life is full of choices. Quit. Fail. Or Pass. Fly.

Yeah, especially if it is for a foreign entity/country. I am surprised there is a checkride at all. When I was at a big box training center training Saudis on the King Air, they just got training only. We just checked boxes and moved on.
