Recommendations for Instrument Written Prep programs

Hello forum members,

Does anyone have a recommendations for instrument written prep program?
I'm using now a program I bought from the school I'm about to attend but I don't get along with it.
I put my eyes on the King schools' "Instrument Rating Knowledge Test Course". Did anyone here ever used it? Does anyone have another recommendations?

Thank you,
Nimrod

Free is always a good thing. Though, you should avoid sites like Exams4pilots....Alot of the stuff isn't 100% accurate.
I've wondered about that. Is it just a matter of them copying the answers to the site wrong or what?
I've used Sportys and it worked pretty well. Just be careful you don't click on the background tab of your browser while you're doing the tests. I've accidentally closed them that way before. Pretty frustrating when you're on question 59. ;)

I've heard that they occasionally load the wrong answer as the correct answer. Same goes for some other free sites (I'm pretty sure Sporty's is up to date and correct).

Thank you all.
Do you have anything to say about king school? I saw some videos on Youtube and I liked it, the problem is that their progrem is pretty expensive (279$).

Thanks again.

King Schools is good..but not necessary. Gleim is much more economical, and works just as well. Granted Gleim presents the material in a drier format..but it works, and you can always reference the book anytime you want.

The problem with Gleim is that it just gives you the questions to memorize (Ok for the written, bad for the oral). Sporty's and King Schools do a pretty good job of preparing you for both. Now if your talking about the Gleim books (other than the FAA knowledge test questions)..Works unless your a visual learner (like myself). IMO, the government books are more useful than Gleim.

Valid point. Gleim is OK with getting you to know the information. Excellent at helping you just memorize.

Thank you all.

I will ask another question: How important is it to prepaer by yourself to the exams? I'm supposed to start my training next week and like I said, I didn't get along with the program I bought from my school and it seems like I will not have enough time to prepaer myself.
Also, there is a ground schoo lin the school I'm about to attened. Should I be satisfied with that? If yes - Why was reccomended to me by the school to prepaer by myself in the first place?

Those questions might sounds weird to you but I come from Israel and those things are completely different here...

Thank you again

Even if you're taking a classroom type ground school, you should be preparing or studying ahead of time. Good luck

I agree with Mike H, study as best you can ahead of time on your own. If you read up ahead of time, the material in the classroom will be much easier to understand. Use the classroom ground school to ask specific questions and to clarify things that you don't completely understand.

Good luck

Thanks for the Sporty's link, I didn't know they had test prep for free. That's some good stuff for sure.
