Not pertaining to JC but to recommendations. I have a "friend" who I flew with when I was working for a certain Aero Commander operator. He taught in a Cirrus and was a real cowboy. Not one of those "pull the chute" type guys. So he asked if my company was hiring and walked his resume in. He had previous freight experience and they hired him. Soon after I got my next job flying the Metro, he asked if they were hiring since is route was deemed to be canceled soon. I walked his resume in again, got him an interview, and he was all set to move, but then declined the job. It was like a slap in the face because now while I can walk resumes in, no one I recommend gets a call now.
So kids, if you do ask for a job, and are offered it, don't stab your recommender in the back. Take the job.
